Myron Barnstone: Master Student, Teacher and Artist
September 6 – October 19, Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts, Bethlehem, PA
Barnstone Studios teams up with Lehigh Valley Charter High School of the Arts in Bethlehem, PA this fall for an interactive exhibit in the Charter Arts Gallery. Students and visitors will see the step-by-step evolution of some of the late Myron Barnstone’s internationally acclaimed paintings, and how he utilized classical disciplines of geometric design to bring vibrant life to his work. In the 70s, Myron locked his own pieces away to begin what would be a 35-year teaching career at Barnstone Studios, then located in the Lehigh Valley. This exhibit will be the world debut of some of Myron’s work. Stay tuned for details.

April 6 – 27
1 – 4 p.m. Saturday, April 6, join us at ArtistAngle Gallery in Frederick, MD for the opening reception for “Through the Barnstone Lens: A Photographic Journey.” See the world through the discerning eye of the late Myron Barnstone in the US debut of his photos that document his travels in Japan, England, France, Spain and America. With portraits that truly capture his subjects’ soul, and landscape and architectural images that capture the spirit of the land and the people, Barnstone’s photos are snippets of time that span 60 years. Barnstone’s daughter Catherine ‘Cat’ Barnstone Szafran sorted through dozens of boxes to select the photos, which were hidden away when Barnstone decided to stop his own celebrated painting and photography career to teach the next generation of artists. Photos by Szafran will also be displayed. The exhibit runs through April 27 at ArtistAngle, 124 S. Carroll Street, Frederick, MD, 21701.
