Myron Barnstone Revolving Exhibit at ArtistAngle Gallery

Frederick, Maryland
March 11 through July 28

The first Myron Barnstone exhibit in the United States is currently showing at ArtistAngle Gallery in Frederick, Maryland. While some of Barnstone’s original works were featured in galleries in Paris and London over 40 years ago, it has never been displayed in the US. An art teacher for 35 years, Barnstone kept his work archived for decades to avoid unduly influencing his thousands of students.

Works by Barnstone and distinguished alumnus Christopher Parrott, who exhibits his own pieces in galleries around the globe, will illustrate how art speaks directly to the heart.

For the final weeks of ArtistAngle Gallery’s revolving five-month show of Myron Barnstone’s works, all the original pieces displayed will be Barnstone’s creations. Many were part of his triumphant 1967 “survivors” show in Paris. He transformed the catacombs of the American Church into a make-shift gallery, illuminated by strings of lights, to depict the horror and destruction of the Holocaust and nuclear war. The emotional experience was lauded by media in Paris and around the world, and Barnstone’s show was extended due to popular and critical demand.
