“Myron Barnstone’s life work was entirely focused on diving deeper into the underlying structures of created works, and passing those timeless foundational insights, approaches and techniques along to his students across his more than 30 years of teaching,” shares Catherine Szafran Barnstone, Myron’s daughter.
“Myron’s own work explored the human body, flora and foliage, and dynamic subjects through abstract representations in oil, gouache, and pen and ink. These curated works, some of which have not been exhibited for more than 60 years, reflect his passions for peace, justice and the revelation of symmetry and beauty in unexpected forms and spaces.
“It is through experiencing these works of passion that we hope to provide a fresh way to experience the 7 Unitarian Universalist Principles: as Myron’s artworks evoke fresh insight within viewers, we will encourage visitors to participate through themed personal exercises, prompts and meditations, culminating in a communal work where we invite visitors to contribute to a larger created work of art.”
